I am in need of a good syn stock for my son's stainless 30-06. It has been awhile since I purchased one. Whats the latest in this field? Not looking for something cheap, bendable or flimsy.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

If you want to spend money:
H-S Precision
or
McMillan

If you want to walk into a store and buy one:
Hogue

I have used a few different synthetic stocks and I prefer mcmillan.Extremely well made and a lifetime warranty.

Top of the line:

http://www.bansnersrifle.com/hightech/

Mark Bansner also makes complete rifles. However I had a H-S Precision installed on my Rem 700. At the time I couldn't afford the HighTech price. But don't be fooled by any claims of "drop-in-fit." They all need to be glass bedded for best accuracy. My smith used Bisonite. 7 years and a trip to Africa with zero problems.

As mentioned by someone else, they are not cheap, but I think H-S Precision stocks are about the best.

I own Bell and Carlson, McMillan, and H-S stocks and would pick the H-S as the best of the bunch.

H-S offers some good designs and has a multitude of colors or even camo if you desire.

They are really nice people to do business with, as well. I even visited their plant in South Dakota and enjoyed talking with the folks there.

I agree with onefunzr2.

I have the Bansner High Tech Specialties stock as well as McMillan.

I prefer the Bansner, but both are the "top of the heap".

The Bansnser is much lighter (although McMillan's lightweight models may be comparable, they have not been on the market long enough for me to have heard any comments on their strength). The Bansner I have compares well to the McMillan I have for torsion resistance.

My S/S Remington wears a H-S stock, just happens to be my favorite stock of all my rifles. No bedding, just tighten and shoot, McMillan is another good choice, I just perfer H-S. Jay

Thanks everyone. I never heard of the Bansner before. There web site says nothing of aluminum bedding blocks but they are cheaper than the H-S. I have some good info to start my hunt. I plan to glass what ever I purchase.
