Lucky Wife! Nice gun. Lucky You! My wife condones my hobby but is not interested herself. Altghough, she has learned enough to appreciate nice wood and detests plastic & SS. Sorry to hear about her Step Dad's health!

I'll sure take it when she gets tired of it. Pretty rifle!

My wife's stepdad just gave her, not me , what he calls a pre '64 Browning 30-06,2x7 Leupold scope, about 4 boxes of ammo, and a nice Puma knife. I think he bought it new and hunted with it for years. He is in declining health and gave it to her because his biological daugther and son-in-law don't hunt and he didn't want it sitting around unused.

It is indeed a Belgium made Browning mauser in very good condition - its been used but also well taken care of. My wife hunts but is not well-versed at all about guns themselves. She justs likes them to shoot where she aims. I told her no one would ever sneeze at this rifle - no matter what the company. I did have to alter it just a bit - set the scope back about 3/4".

When she asked, "how big of an animal will it kill?", my response was "just about anything big enough to die". I also told her that I would have to shoot it some to sight it in, make sure it works, etc., etc.

Just thought I'd share the view of a fine rifle.
