I have some Norma Oryx 232 gr bullets and would like to load some up in my 9.3 X 74R but can't find any load data except "one" with Norma powder. I don't use Norma powder so am clueless on where to start with the IMR or RL's.

I use primarily Varget and IMR4350 in my 62, but with heavier bullets. Anyone have a favorite for the 232 grainers'. Thanks

Larry,

unless it is a single shot your rifle regulation may not work ...

the Oryz seems really a bullet on his own at least for Norma as the powder is less than with other bullets.

same with Lapua as you can use the N140.

here s some reading for you :

http://www.lapua.com/upload/do...adingguideed9eng.pdf

http://www.lapua.com/en/produc...g-data/relodata/5/89

seems the rl15 is your answer ...

i prefer in lighter bullet the accubond in any 9.3s ...

all the best.

For my FN-Browning CCS25 o/u in 9,3x74R, I used to load 286 Norma Plastic Points on top of IMR 4831 / 65.0 with very good concentricity of both bbls. (1" at 50 meters) and very deadly on running boars during drive hunting . Reaching close to the end of my supply of plastic points, I recently tried to substitute the Norma 286 Oryx with the same load. Grouping of both bbls. as well as POI remained unchanged
well, maybe 1 cm (.4") to the left at 50 m...

---------

3 shots do not make a group, they show a point of aim or impact.
5 shots are a group.

The main reason for lower loads for oryx bullets is lawyers and what norma changed their pressure messuring system about year 2000.

A very good starting point is using the same load you use with heavier bullets that regulate. I have found that most of the time the lighter bullet will regulate with the same load.
