Found an unshot Colt Light Rifle in 30-06. Handles pretty good, but I noticed a lot of flexibility in the forarm, similar to Savage 110's i have owned. Anyone have any problems with this stock?

They are a poor use of tupperware. NULA makes a beautiful drop in for $450 which is worth it if you get a shooter like mine.

In my quest for info on these rifles ( I have one on lay-away) I have found a near universal dislike of the stocks and triggers used by Colt. When replaced, feedback has been very positive.

As annoying as the flex is, most of them shoot just fine in spite of it. I bought the NULA stock also and it took the rifle into another catagory altogether as far as fit and feel. So far I haven't done anything with my trigger because I seem to have a pretty good one. Any Remington 700 trigger willfit the Colt Light Rifle.

Others absolutely hate the rifle. To each their own.

Boy, this rifle is pretty tempting with the 24" barrel. I imagine the handloads could be pretty impressive!
A lot of dough for the stock! How does it affect the balance point with a scope? More or less muzzle heavy?
By the way the price is over $550, any thoughts?

Generally, you can pick up a new one NIB on Gunbroker for around $399.00-$450.00 if you are patient. I haven't thought about the balance; it seems less muzzle heavy, since you ask. It reduced the rifle's overall weight by almost another full pound. Lasly, you can either buy a black one off the shelf with standard LOP or order one with custom length of pull and custom color for the same money if you can wait.

Thanks Tiggergate. I will keep my eyes open. I really would like to find one in .270, as my Whelen serves as my 06'. But, an 06' with a longer tube could be very interesting.
