6.5 x 55 Mauser, Youth Loads

Out playing with the 6.5 x 55 Mauser, pulled out the chronograph and chrony'ed some loads that I had..

these are for lower recoil in most instances, stuff I loaded to take kids out hunting with me and Seafire Jr.

Group A:
30 grains of Rl 7, CCI Large Primer, Win Brass
1. 85 grain Sierra HP: 2769 fps
2. 100 grain SP Hornady: 2622 fps
3. 120 Speer SP, 2389 fps
4. 140 grain Rem SP: 2364 fps

Group B:
25 grains of SR 4759, Rem 9 1/2 primer, Rem Brass
1/ 85 grain Sierra HP: 2563 fps
2. 90 grain TNT Speer: 2572 fps
3. 95 grain V Max: 2553 fps
4. 100 grain SP Hornady: 2472 fps

Group C:
1. 25 gr SR4759, CCI.LR, 140 grain SP Rem: 2156 fps
2. 24 gr Blue Dot, CCI.LR, 100 grain SP Hornady: 2644 fps
3. 40 grs IMR 4895, Fed LR, 120 Ballistic Tip: 2845 fps
4. 45 gr IMR 4895, CCI.LR, 100 SP Hornady: 3266 fps
5. 30 gr RL 7, Rem 9 1/2, 160 gr RN Hornady: 2073 fps

rifle used was a Ruger 77 Mk 2. 22 inch factory barrel..

40 grains of varget with a 100 grain nosler bt works for me.

35.6 gr. IMR 3031, 100 gr. Nosler BT, chronos at 2600 ave. One of my 9 yr old grandsons shot his first buck last year with this load. Complete passthrough both shoulders. DRT
