I read that some bed their rugers, but not the lug - Others bed from 1/5 to 2" of the barrel back to the lug - Some bed all the way back to the tang - And some bed the tang as well. My questions are: 1. Anyone have a pic of the tang bedded? 2. Anyone have a pic of the entire action after it has been bedded? 3. What is the best (in your experience) material to use for such bedding? Thanks

Sorry about the lousy pics, but thats´s the best my camera will do up close. Hopefully you will get an idee... The job is done by my gun smith, I don´t know what stuff he used. He also put a bolt in the web between the magazine well and the trigger guard to beef up the stock. Rifle is a M77 SS / laminated stock / 338 winmag. Arild Iversen.

Accra-glass is what I used. Did the lugs and action/stock mating surfaces. Follow the directions - my old .338 tightened up fairly well after a glassing and a new trigger. ________ "...And on the 8th day, God created beer so those crazy Canadians wouldn't take over the world..."

Here's mine and it looks quite similar to Arild's. André DRSS --------- 3 shots do not make a group, they show a point of aim or impact. 5 shots are a group.

LBGuy, check out my thread on the Gunsmithing forum (below). There are some pictures there. When I do mine, I plan on bedding the first 2 inches of the barrel as well. I plan on using Devcon as I have some left over! I also plan on using pillars from Brownells. Peter. Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee.
