I went into the local gunshop today had to go downtown and pick-up my BDU and DCU anyhow I went in there and inquired if he could order me a CZ 550 in a 9.3x62. He got his book out they had CZ's and he told I don't know there aren't to many of those in the states that is the 9.3x62 then he asked what I was going to use it for cause he said ammo would be hard to get for it. I said no Nosler makes bullets and pretty much all the die companies make dies for it and I can buy Norma brass with no problems then he says what you need it for I told Him hey I have 404 Jeffrey a 35 whelen IMP a 358 Norma mag well it is in the process of being built I went into the speel on how many guns I had I wanted one just because. Maybe I shouldn't have worn my uniform in there cause a lot of times they think you are dumb ass and the only weapon you know anything about is the M-16A2 so anyhow he finally came to the conclusion that I just want one. So he is going to call his distributor and see if they have any.

CZ-USA had 97 CZ 550 American models in 9.3x62 in stock last week. I know because my gunsmith/dealer called them and asked. My new 550 in 9.3x62 should be here this week.

I try my best to stay out of gun shops! I always end up buying something whenever I get inside one. My last trip cost me quite a bit, because they had a CZ 527 carbine in 7.62X39mm on the rack, and I just couldn't go home and leave it sit there!

It sounds like your dealer needs to learn a little more about his own business and perhaps spend a little more time reading about more than just the firearms and calibers that the locals buy or that he would shoot. My dealer used to be pretty much a 3006 and 270 dealer but over the past year or so he has begun to keep quite a nice selection on hand. Maybe he got upset that I was buying guns from everyone else but him (He always accepts them for me on his FFL). One of these days maybe he will get connected to the internet.

I was relieved to find that the full stock 9.3X62 that I'd been oogling off and on at the gunshop finally sold, as I just might have found a need that it would fill. I admit that the mini CZ in 7.62X39 was pretty tempting though.

I have the opposite problem, the gunshops carry all I could want and more. They also know that a gun looney simply needs to want to buy a gun.

What your dealer was really trying to tell you is, "Just buy something off my shelf because I don't want to have to do anything special or go to any extra effort for you."

Any CZ you want is available.

Your dealer is full of it.

The only thing he told you that is true is you won't be buying ammo over the counter just anywhere. Big Deal.

Get another dealer.

The other gunshop in town is just as bad this guy is decent. Well he didn't call me today so his research must of not went to far. I'm going to get one even if I have to have my dad in Oregon get one up there!

I'm sure you could find a source for what you want online, then tell your "dealer" who to call, plus give him the tel. number!! You might have to offer to pay for the call, if it is not a toll-free number.

If that is the case I will go to the Sportsman center here on post I know they will do it for the prices you mentioned. So I can order it from CZ and they will ship it to to the dealer i don't have to send them a FFL. Thanks for the info also if I have it sent to the Sportsman center no sales tax.

You can order them yourself on line and just have it shipped to an FFL where you live. Bugger your dealer. Just ask him if he'll receive a firearms shipment and handle the paperwork for you. Many dealers will gladly do it for a $25 or 50 fee.

And you can probably save this much or more by ordering it on line. Problem solved.
