7mm SAUM: 140AB, 150NP, 160NP 300 SAUM: 150AB, 150BT, 150NP, 165BT, 165NP, 180AB, 180BT, 180E-Tip, 180NP, 200AB, 200NP. Thats an impressive array of HQ factory loadings from one company, for a cartridge some say is dead. Ive always had some liking of the short action Titanium 700 SAUM approaching 6 1/4lb bare, with 24" tube. (near 7lb with leupold 2.5-8x and alloy Taleys) its lightweight but a little muzzle heavy which aided steady holding. -Nosler factory rounds indicate 200AB/NP at 2800mv. Nosler developed & supplied load data puts 200gn up to 2870mv.

I don't yet own either, but I think the 7 RSAUM is the one I would choose over the 7 WSM.

My Buddy has a Remington Model Seven 300 RSAUM; IMO a really spiffy rifle; light, handy, deadly accurate, recoils like a .308 Win. (opinions may vary .....) and really delivers the goods at the receiving end. When I initally shot it - expected to get hammered by such a light rifle; turned out to be a nice shooter. He takes it on Drive Hunts here where it dispatches Wild Boar and Red Deer handily, and in Namibia killed all his Wish List routinely with one shot. With vanilla-flavored Remington Core-Lokt ammo - what's not to like? Cheers, Number 10

Good quality ammo; hopefully they'll keep the full range of loadings at least in their Custom line of ammo. Very nice to have 30-06 Ackley Imp/Gibbs performance capability from a compact quick handling rifle (Ruger M77 MkII SS SA 300 SAUM w/factory synthetic stock and 22" barrel). I do have a 7saum in a Rem AWR. Amazing rifle that delivers some fantastic groups for me and tips in at 7# even with a 6x42 or 7.5# with a 2-12x42 vx6. What seems to have saved the Saums is the Long Range Community. There is a decided preference for the saum over the wsm in that the saum is more efficient and doesn't burn barrels out as quickly. Of course the wsm delivers another 100fps but that is a rather moot point. The Long Range community talks about getting nearly 3k fps with a 175 gr. bullets in a 30" tube. On the other hand with a 22" tube I've found all of the reported data to be remarkably optimistic. My best loads deliver 3000 fps with a 140AB...2850 with the 150 Etip, and 2800 with a 160. The factory Remington premier 160 np's are HOT, delivering 2950 fps and sticky bolts in my rifle. On the Other hand I bought a case of it for $20 a box - primarily for the brass. I figure I have a lifetimes worth. My current set of Remington brass has between 11&12 reloads on them and are starting to split necks. I'm due to rotate it all out for fresh stuff but I certainly cannot complain about life. All in all its a great package. Regards, Robert ****************************** H4350! so who is making these rifles? I'd sure like a 7 saum in a ruger hawkeye or a win model 70, even a savage would be nice.
