I just picked up my Tikka T3, it comes with rings how do they work?? they look a lot like rimfire rings, the rifle is a 300 win.

I wasn't to sure about the factory rings when I bought my Tikka. I used the rings and have not had any problems. I'm amazed at how well they work. Mine are on a 300 WSM. The front ring has a peg in the bottom of it and it fits into the small hole in the top of the receiver. I pushed the ring as far forward as it would go so that it wouldn't move during recoil. Then put the rear ring where it fits your scope the best.

The scope slid in my T3 rings so I replaced them with Burris bases and rings and have had no more problems.
