There is no doubt that this is a good caliber, but dont make your decision on what extra bullets your hunting partner may have in the trunk of his car. If that is the case, the day you forget your bullets just happens to be the day that your buddy brings his pappys 30-40 lever for old times sakes.
Well I hunt with the same 5-6 guys just about every year. There are 3 or 4 30-'06 rifles every time we go out. I read in a gun mag a while back that the 30-'06 still is the number one best selling cartridge among the leading ammo manufacturers, and it is in the top 3 in reloading dies sales. something like this: 30-'06 20th Century's Top Cartridge |
