who here has or uses one? How does it compare with the 338 Win mag? *We Band of 45-70er's* "Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat." -Theodore Roosevelt-

Try rigbymauser over on Nitro Express forum and here on AR as Jens Poulson. I would love to have one built and have dreamt about one for years. Unfortunately the barrels are a bit 'thin on the ground'. A 300 grain Woodleigh RNSP or FMJ with a SD of .386 really appeals. It would be a beltless equivalent to the .338WM as case capacity is about the same (but with more class). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.333_Jeffery http://forums.nitroexpress.com...arch=true#Post160896 http://forums.accuratereloadin.../3221043/m/825104938

"It would be a beltless equivalent to the .338WM as case capacity is about the same (but with more class)." Exactly what I was thinking. Plus, the penetration capabilities with the looong bullet make it seem like a great round. I am considering building one (along with a 425 WR), just wanted some opinions and thoughts about it.

You cant get much more classic than a .333 Jeff or the 425 for that matter. I have an original Jeffery but haven't shot it yet. There are a couple nice ones on the market right now but they are on magnum Mauser actions which is overkill for the .333. Mine is on a standard Mauser action which is perfect for the cartridge. Maybe a .338 Jeffery would be a nice modern interpretation.

I have a bolt gun and a double in the US, haven't fired them yet. I look forward to getting them one day - if I don't sell them !!! I used to have another bolt gun but sold it in the US a few years back. .
