Hi anyone been shooting the Accubond LRs? How has the accuracy been? I just noticed Nosler is loading them in their ammunition for the 270 Weatherby (I happen to have one). Will they hold together if I get into elk up close?

Thanks!

Regards,

Chuck

I am back from a long Hiatus... or whatever.

I more often than not get my elk in the dark timber. I forget to draw half the time so by the time I hunt they're either on private land or in the deep stuff. Shots are quick and close. Counting points while you're swinging on an elk is tough!

I tried the 150 LRs in my 270 Weatherby but they shot so terrible that they are never going hunting. Maybe I don't live right but I haven't been able to get them to shoot in anything with a jump yet. I've got some 270 Wins and a WSM to try the remainder in.

If you do happen to sweat talk them into shooting they are snarey flat and wind resistant. At least the 190 gr 30s and 150 7 mils are. I don't care what ole what's-his-name says.

I usually hunt with my BDL in 270 Win (22" barrel), but I gave that to my youngest son about five years ago.. I'm thinking of taking my 500 Jeffery this year again. Got a cow elk at 225 yards three years ago with it. It's good out to 300 yards and it should be hell on wheels in the dark timber. I bought a used Mark V in 270 Weatherby a few years ago. I've yet to fall in love with it.

Chuck

I use my big bores for general hunting. A couple elk ago I used my 500 3" Ruger #1. Really even a 458 500 RN at 2150 will hammer an elk at 300. Do you reload for the 270 bee? Great cartridge, so is the win.

Welcome back. I love hunting anything with my Jeffery so I guess I will just get close.
