Has anyone used these bullets extensively in the .338 version? I've had great success with the 150gr .277 hot-cor's and the price is RIGHT. I will still trust the TTSX and partitions when elk hunting but for general target use and black bear and whitetails how do these bullets stack up? At $19 a box I can shoot them more often that the TTSX and Noslers at nearly $1 per bullet.

I like them in my 338-06 @ 2800fps but they are soft & will likely fragment @ impact vel. above 2700fps. A good deer/antelope bullet, but to lightly constructed for 338winmag vel. IMO. LIFE IS NOT A SPECTATOR'S SPORT!

I have hunted with a .338 WM long enough to know that a 200 grain bullet like the Hot Cor will ruin a lot of meat on deer sized game when driven to .338 Win Mag velocities, but it will certainly put their nose in the dirt! "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence"-Carl Sagan

On their web site, Hodgdon claims that H4895 works for youth loads at 60% of max. Anyway, using their info, perhaps a reduced load to about 338 Federal speed would be great for deer and hogs with the 200 gr speer. I really want to try it, but if you beat me to it, give us a report.
