Looking to take my M-44 out hunting, it is quite accurate with Privi SPs and the action is amazingly smooth.

The amount of hunting rounds out there is pretty small, Privi, S&B and Winchester make SPs and Lapua makes a god awfully expensive SP.

Any ideas or personal experience?

I used some Russian made steel cased ammo loaded with 204 grain soft points to kill the one and only deer I've taken with my Moisin. I don't think the Lapua ammo is necessary for deer. I would probably use the S&B or the Prvi, whichever shoots best.

7,62*54r is rather common hunting cartridge in Czech repubic and they are using S&B.

I had forgot about the 203gr sp, I have quite a few for the M44.
