Went hog hunting in Florida this week with jwp475 (full report is in the hog hunting forum). He shot to sows at roughly 350 yards (he can fill you in on the details of the rifle) with his .300 win mag shooting 180 grain Barnes TSXs. Excuse the graphic photo, but the first hog was hit quartering towards him in the shoulder, exiting the off side at the back of the rib cage. The destruction was tremendous to say the very least -- I think you will agree! The pig still managed to run off, earning a 425 grain bullet from his .500 JRH for its efforts.

Pig number two was shot at roughly the same distance yet external damage appeared minimal until we skinned it and we lost a lot of meat as a result.



TSXs are real killers IMHO, but sometimes they really tear things up!

The pig was facing me at the shot, the bullet entered at the shoulder rib juncture as seen ion the photo and the bullet proseded to take out all of the ribs in its pathe leaving a gaping hole
