Recently purchased a 10FP w/accutrigger in 223 Rem. While not in 308 cal. and my rifle has the 24" bbl instead of the 20" LE1, can state this is one of the most accurate "out of the box" rifles I have ever owned. Shoots everything I have put through it including Win. white box within moa @ 100 yds. Just started working up handloads when deer season rolled around and the 223 now on back burner. The trigger came from factory set @ 1.5#. What's not to like about a rifle priced under $500 that shoots sub moa out of the box? If I had to find fault, guess that the heavy barrel makes the rifle a bit muzzle heavy to carry on the sling in the field but the 20" bbl might resolve that problem. Have an older Savage in 338 Win Mag (pre-accutrigger) that is equally as accurate. If accuracy is what you are looking for, think you'll be pleased w/the 10FP. Regards, hm

SPENT THE last 3 years dragging around a 10FP as my dedcated "police crisis intervention rifle". It is pre accu-trigger. THe rifle cost $310 on sale. I put another $175 into a glass stock and another $80 into a new trigger. Out of the box it shot 3/4" groups. Now it shoots 1/2" groups all day long. AND it is still cheaper then any of the brand names that you pay more for and still have to tweak to get them to work right. Savages are probably the best bang for the buck when it comes to accuracy out of the box. Unless they have changed them, the stocks are a little weak and you will get better performance if you go to an aftermarket, but other then that, Savages ARE shooters. THey also are some of the most user friendly to work on if you have any skills with tweaking things. THe ONLY rifle I have it cannot outshoot is my FN SPR and that is in a whole different class of rifle for accuracy.
