My most accurate rifle is a Savage 110 in .22-250Rem. to which I've affixed a 26" Hart SS barrel and a Fajen Varminter stock. It shoots in the 2's, the best being .216" (5 shots at 100yds). The only problem is it weighs about 14lbs. so I need a golf cart to lug it around the woodchuck fields. Equally accurate is my Rem. 40XBBR in .222Rem. It's an unaltered heavy barrel that also prints in the 2's. It weighs close to 10lbs. It was made in the early 70's when Remington made some very accurate rifles. In fact, Remington wouldn't ship the rifle out unless it shot .4" or less. Boy do I miss those days. Best wishes.
My most accurate match rifle is a Remington 40X in 6mm Rem Intl. It has the free rifle stock and now a Douglas barrel. This rifle has won many position matches at 200 yds including high average awards and a invite to the US Olympic team. Of course matches like this are won offhand. It will shoot ten shoots into 3/8" or so at 100yds.
For varmint rifles the first shot is what counts for me. I never get multiple targets it seems. My M 70 Swift will hit within about 1" of the point of aim all of the time at 200 yds. This means it stays sighted in. This took some bedding work by me and testing with barrel cleaning and not cleaning.
A surprise is an old FN sporter in .270 that has headspace problems. Using 280 Rem brass sized with a Redding "S" FL bushing die and just a 3-9 Leu at 200 yds the 110 VMax it shoots 1.25" groups at 200 yds. I am tempted to put a more powerful scope on it. The heck with it. I will just carry it hunting for coyotes. I have more rifles than there are coyotes in CT I think.
My Kimber 84M Classic in 260 Rem shoots about 1/4 to 1/2 MOA. Just getting to know that one. I have about a dozen MOA or better rifles.
My most accurate rifle is my re-worked Ruger Mod. 77. It originally was a .257 Roberts but I decided to have it worked over & rebarrelled with a Kreiger in .257 Imp. I haven't completely wrung it out yet, but with 75 gr. v-max's, I've gotten slightly under 0.4". I'm sure it'll do that consistantly if I do my part. Bear in Fairbanks

I have two that are closely tied as being the most accurate. One is a Ruger 77 tang safety model 30/06 that is bone stock and shoots like it's a custom rifle. I know it's hard to believe, and I've heard all the stories about the old 77s spotty quality barrels, but this one is a shooter. The second is a brand spanking new Ruger 77 MkII in .243, that will cut bullet holes at 100 yards and stays an inch or less at 200 yards with no special tinkering, (except I did add a Timney trigger, after I saw how well it shot stock). I've read and heard all the horror stories about 77s not shooting well, and I've had my share of lemons in them, but I now have three of them and they are all good shooters. I also have a 77 Ultra Light, which I can't say is in the same class as the others, but it shoots pretty darn well, usually an around an inch at 100 with loads it likes, and it is consistent. The little UL 77 accounted for two bucks this past season, one shot at over 230 yards out of my treestand, which with me behind the stock, is amazing.
waxman ----- My most accurate rifle is a Model 70 Winchester in .358 STA with a 270 grain North Fork bullet at 2850 fps. It will put three bullets touching when I do my part. My next most accurate is a 7mm STW with a 160 grain North Fork bullet, then another .358 STA Model 70 Winchester with Lilja barrel and 270 grain North Fork bullet, then a .340 Wby Sporter with a 240 grain North Fork bullet, then a .300 Win mag with a 180 grain Nosler Partition bullet, then a .416 Rigby and .416 Rem each with 370 grain North Fork bullets, then a 7mm BR Thompson Contender and a 140 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip. ----- Happiness is a good day at the range all my favorite rifles and the contender. I've been fortunate and have a lot of rifles that shoot very well. I imaging my most accurate deer rifle would be my Remington Mountain rifle in 270, followed closely by a similar rifle in 30-06. In varmint rifles, my 6mm Remington.

Rem 788 .308 Its a 1/2" gun always if I do my part. With a bunch of 1/4" and less groups thrown in over the years. It started out fussy, but with a little bedding and many trips to the range it turned into a keeper. I gave it to my son when he was 8 and thats how many muley and wt bucks he has taken with it. He's 19 now and in the Marines. He let his mom use it this year to take a fine muley buck. I gave him a sub moa rem 7 mag when he was 15 and he'll shoot it but, he won't hunt with it. Guess the 788 is his gun.... My most acc is a M-700 7-mag...

My most accurate rifle has got to be my 60's vintage Remington M-700 BDL in 7mm Rem Mag! If I do my part, this one will put them all in a spot smaller than a dime!
Next would have to be my Encore .221 Fire Ball, with a 26 inch barrel! This one will do less than minute groups all day!

@100yds it would be my 5mm Remington Magnum that is converted to centerfire.
It consistantly shoots 5 shot groups @ 1/2" or less @ 100yds.
6.8gr of 2400 behind a 33gr VMax gets 2450fps.
When loaded .010" off the lands the OAL will not permit cycling through the magazine, but who cares?
I picked a crow off @ about 175yds recently. Hit @ point of aim. It is sighted in 2 1/2" high @ 100yds (impacts @ bottom of top duplex) hits about 1" low @ 200yds. Groups still hold to 1 1/4" @ 200yds if the wind aint too bad.
Costs me less than $.14 a round to load.

My custom Panda 6ppc LV benchrest rifle . Seriously, for hunting rifles, my M700 Sendero SF in 7mmSTW. It will shoot 1/2 in. or groups @100yds. That rifle isn't for sale at any reasonable price.

My most accurate hunting rifle is a pre-64 model 70 custom in 6.5 Remington Magnum. 125 gr. Nosler partitions at 3350 ft/sec into about a .335 group for 4 shots.

Most accurate out of the box sporter was a pair of Rem. 788's on in 222 the other a 308. They were both .5 MOA rifles with nothing more than glass bedding and a little load development. I still have those rifles, and they get shot frequently. Sure wish Remington still made them as they were back in the late 60's and 70's.
I have to agree with LAWCOP, the most accurate factory tactical rifle I have ever seen was a pair of FN SPR's. Those rifles would both shoot in the .2's with the Sierra 175 MK. right out of the box with nothing more than a little load development.
Of my custom F class competitoin rifles, which one is the most accurate depends on how well I am shooting on any given day. All three of them shoot very well (in the .2 to .4 range) with numerous groups in the .1's from all three.
The most forgiving rifle I have is my Krieger barreled 260 hunting rifle. It shoots about anything you put in it very well. I have a load for the 90 gr. TNT, the 120 gr. Sierra Pro Hunter, and the 140 gr. Sierra GameKing that all shoot sub .5 MOA.

A box stock Savage 12BVSS in 22-250, with a bedding job and nothing else, it will average .200-.250 over a ten group span and has went as good as .151 with no wind and perfect conditions.

Of the rifles I currently own (which does not include the most accurate I've owned) is a 23" SS pac-nor barreled (in a 700 mountain rifle contour - very thin) on a 1949 722 action in 257 Roberts. This rifle will shoot 0.4-0.5 MOA (3 shots) with factory ammo, and will do even better with handloads. All this in a stock that does not fit me well and with no accurizing; i.e., factory trigger, no bedding, etc. Scope is a 2-7x Nikon from the early 1990s in weaver rings and bases. I've got a number of others than are about this accurate, but none with such a whippy little barrel in such a crappy stock...
