Anyone shooting .308 bullets in their 7.65? I vaguely remember someone at the range doing something like that years ago, but I wasn't paying attention to his know it all blather.

Maybe he did know it all!

fishingAs a young man I used .264 bullets in two different Carcanos. They both had hunting accuracy. Your 7.65 with .308 bullets equate to the same scynario. You might have to use a slightly smaller expander. Maybe not. Try it. beer

With the cost of powder, primers and brass being what they are I prefer to use the proper size bullets if they are about the same cost. If you have free bullets that is one thing.
I have a used a few .264 bullets in my 6.5X53R Dutch Mannlicher. It has a .267 bore. The under size bullets seem to be scorching the throat much quicker than I expected. Not funny since I already have a good supply of .264 bullets.

I've used lots of milsurp 308's in the 7.65x53. While the accuarcy is not stellar, it's acceptable. I use a 308 expander ball, like Roger mentioned.
