Not sure how many of you shoot the 7x64 but yesterday when I was in whittakers I counted 9 boxes of 7x64 in 175gr core lokt's for $9.50 box. This seems kind of cheap to me for loaded rounds. www.whittakerguns.com "Science only goes so far then God takes over."

That's a great price, it's out there if you know where to look. http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item.asp?sku=00217SBA76402 http://www.grafs.com/ammo/196 http://www.cpcartridge.com/7X64P.htm http://www.reedsammo.com/

That's a great price, I'd buy it myself if I wasn't already maxxed out on my ammo supply. LLS

I just called them and they said they have never stocked it. Anyone know if it can be made from 270Win? NRA Life Member, Band of Bubbas Charter Member, PGCA, DRSS. Shoot & hunt with vintage classics.

You called Whittakers? If they told you that whoever answered the phone didn't know what they were talking about. I counted 9 boxes of it on the bottom shelf right in front of the counter. "Science only goes so far then God takes over."

You can make 7x64 out of 280 remington, which is a bit different from 270 and 30-06 (I don't remember how it differs). The book of cartridge conversions describes how.

Answer is yes. All you have to do is full length resize (use plenty of resizing wax around base which will compress and graphite on neck to ease expander ball), stretches to 7x64 length, feeds perfectly. 270 brass on left, same thing resized to 7x64 on right: NRA Life Member, Band of Bubbas Charter Member, PGCA, DRSS.
