Well off to the Houston gun show I go early this morning, just to look for some parts I tell my unbelieving spouse.

There are some fabulous guns at this show by the way, a great selection from $3,000 - $20,000.

Anyway, after eyeing many of the really fine pieces I come across a dealer with several new Browning Lightning BLR's, including 1 in .300 Win. Mag., for only $499. What's a guy to do, I don't own a BLR and I don't own a .300 Win. Mag., so of course it has to come home with me. Pop on the Leupold 4-12 that's been looking for a new rifle to sit on and it looks quite pleasing.

As penance I have to take the previously mentioned spouse to the Nutcracker Christmas Sale tomorrow, I guess it's still worth it.

Yeah, well you will find out whether it was worth it or not tomorrow when you get the final tab from the Xmas sale. [Big Grin]

Without admitting the fact, your spouse is probably just fine with your "addition" and the nutcracker trade off is a good balance - hopefully spouses of "gun nuts" understand that there exist many "worse" habits than owning / buying a quality firearm - she probably knew you would bring home a new firearm and you knew that she knew and so on........... anyway, nice purchase and good luck with both - a reliable rifle and an understanding spouse are two of lifes pleasures [Big Grin] KMule

Well I sure got lucky, just back from the payback and it only cost one purse, a pair of shoes and $100 at the Christmas Sale. Now I'll have to slip out to the range one day this week at lunch, picked up sling eyes today and I'll get them installed tonight, got some 150 and 180 gr. loads to try and we'll see how she does.

You're right that it's good to have a spouse that realizes this is a relatively mild obsession, she's even paying for the custom 275 Rigby being built as a Christmas present.

Sounds like you've achieved balance. Kinda like my wife and I. The new Cabela's catalog has this nice leather coat she was eying last night. So, I said, "order it". Oh, and while you are on line, get me a MEC sizemaster in 12 ga?

Balance is a beautiful thing..... Dutch.
