PAGuardianTropic Star with kids?
After talking with them at DSC, I am strongly considering a trip to Tropic Star with my wife, 2 boys (10 and 6), and my parents. Just wanted to see if anyone here has experience with Tropic Star and taking young kids along.
My older son will fish and have a blast. I'm a little worried it is a bit too adventurous/ambitious for my younger son.
Any thoughts/experience would be much appreciated!

If you don’t already know you can take the kids for “free” meaning pay for two anglers during Summer months and July recommended …
Depending on your family they should love it.
I’ve taken mine to Panama and Costa Rica like this and going back to Panama in June
Take them…in fact…make them go…
You won’t regret it

Capt.PurvisI would take my kids there before I would take them anywhere in the Yucatan or Pacific Coast of Mexico. Panama is supposed to be safe for families. I still would not venture far from the tourist area.

That was my thought as well. I am under the impression that Tropic Star Lodge is pretty well isolated which is why I'm only considering it.
At this point, Mexico is out of the question in my mind.

Have you been back to Isla Mujeres since we were there?

Capt.PurvisI have not. Jeff is there now with his boat but neither Rom Whitaker nor Jeff Merit have taken their boats down since we were there in 2018. Everyone is going to Bahamas and DR. The Naval base on Isla is what is keeping the Cartels from taking over that island. Crime has gotten worst. I would go back with a group of guys. Would not take clients or my family.
