After watching a few of these shows I found it hard to believe that these fisherman where getting as high as $28 a pound for a tuna upwards of 600 pounds, that is $16,800 to the first line buyer who will ship across the ocean to Japan, Makes you wonder what the next buyer would pay to support the price paid plus shipping. Well it seems the record price paid by a Japan store at auction occurred in 2013 where a record 1.76 million dollar price was paid on a tuna carcass weighing 484 pounds, do the math that is $3636.36 per pound, $227.27 per ounce. sushi anyone
