My Daughter is emigrating to St Johns in Newfoundland in Feb next year, Does anyone know what the regulations are on Hunting and fishing. Can I just turn up and fish? There will obviously be regulations on shooting for a visitor, but what are they? What are the seasons and what is there on the quarry list? regards Griff

I do not know but I traveled two weeks a year to St. John's and love the city the people the food the people and walk ten minutes and you in the bush....battery point is awesome the crow's nest club...all of it. It holds over half the island's population and I would base from there and travel to Labrador to help the IEMR with studies outside Goose Bay.

I spent a lot of time there while in the military in Maine. Newfie is a wonderful place. Moose, caribou, bears and fishing. If you like wet weather and want to live in Canada they really have it all. Plus it's an island, since you currently live on one I am guessing that's a plus.
