Anyone use or own one of these tents? How do you like it and how did it holdup? I just bought one and can't wait to test it out. "We band of 45-70'ers"

Mr.Expeds knowledge on outdoor gear construction and fabrics is awesome. He can look at just about any brand tent and tell you straight away what fabric was used and why, what construction technique was used and why,and which would have been the better fabric and construction technique/cut/geometry to use and why. Exped have a product test bed of all brands of quality tents that are pitched in outside elements, to test their long term durability and performance. My friend who is an avid technical and outdoor person and climber, he believes in Exped very much, He works in a number of outdoor techno gear shops with many name brand products, and will at times, discreetly suggest Exped to some customers, despite that store not selling it. His core loyalty is to seeing people go afield with the most correct gear for the intended application. If your tent is made with anything like the same level of forethought & care in design&construction put into Exped sleeping bags, then you have an exceptional product. Check out their down filled airmats, another ace product from Exped. Its all money well spent.

Maybe I'm out-of-line for asking about a website or other contact information without first doing a search first, but what the heck I stumbled across the thread and my North Face tent is showing some wear and I'm always looking for quality gear. Rodney.

I am selling Exped gear and Bibler/BlackDiamond: Here in Europe the Exped is a little bit cheaper tha the Bibler tents for example. I would recomend them for having a high quality all around use tent which is well made and durable. Personaly, I would prefer the Bibler more, because: It is more lightweight, quality is the highest on what comes as a "Non costum" tent and it is durable as well, but a different "Style" of tent building than the Expeds... Enjoy yours Klaus www.gecko-climbing.de

I did a lot of research before buying the Orion and did consider Bibler, Hilleberg and many others before going with the Exped. Getting gear from Europe can get expensive and when the gear is already expensive, well, it's a bit more than I wanted to spend. I do like the way the European's design their tents, keeping simplicity at the forefront while using topnotch materials. Klaus, i'll keep you in mind if I ever decide I need another quality tent. By the way, do you carry Terra Nova tents or know anything about them? "We band of 45-70'ers"

Ive admired the Bibler single skin tents for some time, but a number of them could be a bit stiffling if also used in warmer/more humid climates, the Bibler Ahawhnee2 with its two big side doors seems the most versatile, the low slung Bibler Fitzroy with its two smaller end doors, was my favorite otherwise.

Hi M70Nut, give us a field report of the tent please - I would like how it handles under Alaskan conditions... I have used a Hilleberg Namatj myself during the last 17 years now (from California to New Zealand, Norway, Sweden and much more...) - it is still working flawless, but compared to the Bibler it is too heavy and compared to the Exped, it is much more expensive... Well, the prices shown in my shops (both, also the www.titanium-gunworks.de ) includes 19% German VAT which someone outside Europe don´t have to pay - just for your information...! Klaus
