Been using a "Super Day" pack for the past few years. I know they are supposed to be one of the best day packs but I have never warmed to it. It's stiff, heavy and just plain uncomfortable. I'm not going to be camping out of my pack. Just day trips for deer and walking to/from my tree stand or blind. Suggestions?

Double - Get the Kuiu, Icon Pro 1850. The absolute best out there. Comes with a super light carbon frame that can be detached, but really no need to, as it's so thin and light. Pricey, but you will not be sorry. Larry Sellers SCI(International)Life Member R8 Baser Sabatti "trash" Double Shooter

I really like the Eberleestock X1a1. If you don't need the scabbard the the X2 is worth a look. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt. Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure. -Jason Brown

I got a Tenzing TZ2220 and like it quite a lot. I hunt away from the truck and must carry clothing for whatever the weather MIGHT become, and an unplanned overnight. My only complaint is the direction the zippers open on the pockets. I prefer them to open from the front to the back.

I have a couple of day packs that I have used but, for this year's CO elk hunt, I going with a Tenzing TZ 1250 lumbar pack. I have been using an Eberlestock J34 which I like as well but at my age, climbing with a 20+ pound day pack is no fun. I'll keep the J34 at camp to haul out meat if I am fortunate enough to get something this year. Start young, hunt hard, and enjoy God's bounty.

My idea of a daypack is around 20L capacity, and i really like/prefer single compartmemt packs. The PETZL 'Bug', is a no fuss single compartment rope bag designed for climbing sports. ITs great for urban, as well as day pack for outdoors, and quite reasonably priced. http://pump.ocnk.net/data/pump.../20130513_f5fa50.jpg The MISSION WORKSHOP- packs are really nice, but way more costly. but as you can see they are upgradable[when ordering] to include the excellent quality Cobra aluminium quick release buckle. http://36.media.tumblr.com/237...HW1t06fi8o1_1280.jpg
