Anybody used any of these packs. I picked one up this weekend used ( well used is used here pretty loosely , as I don't think it had ever been on anyones back. nothing had even been adjusted on the straps!!) for 20 Bucks at a yard sale. I know Dana is the owner of Mystery Ranch and it seems like a very good pack. Old reviews on line seem like people really liked them. I have been using a Kelty Moraine 3200 for short trips with great success.

My kids should finally draw ewe tags for bighorn sheep this year and we are planning on 4 day trip into the area for the hunt.

Anyone have any history with the Dana Design Packs?

I bought a Dana Design in 93. Great pack! I bought one of the larger ones, and it will hold too much weight, and then some!

If you decide the pack isn't going to work out for you, I'll cover your cost and ADD $25 and pay you the shipping too!

You got a really, really good deal. I think you'll be very happy and find it useful for many years.

Thanks Friar, when I saw the name on the pack I grabbed it. As I was walking around I started looking at it closer. Not a scratch and none of the straps had ever been adjusted. If i took your offer I would be doubling my money , pretty good investment in today's economy Big Grin . But I am going to try it out first. I have a feeling it is going to be great for short trips.

I think you find that whoever let it go was an idiot.
I'm still using a Dana Designs pack that's ten years old. Replaced the harness/shoulder pads with an updated design but I still like it. It's to big sometimes but you can carry more than you should without it being much trouble.
If I were to buy another one I'd probably get a Bull Pack with a small bag.
