Anybody used these boots "Danner Santiams". I looking for an American made boot that is rebuildable, and is available in narrow width.

Danner is a local product (Oregon). Best built boots I've ever owned, and I've owned a few boots.

Not all danner boots are made in the US. I have had multiple failures with Danners and have stopped using them. All of my problems have been on pack hunts while I was carrying heavy loads. The boots stretch, tear, and lose their ability to keep water out. One trip in Washington I had the entire side blow out of a boot after a 6 mile pack into the mountains. My last issue was while sheep hunting in Alaska when the boots began leaking. I spent two weeks with wet and cold feet. I have not put my feet in Danner boots since.

I called and wrote the factory only to be told that nothing could be done….

I have had great luck with Meindl boots to date and will continue to use their product until I need to make a change.

If you do buy Danners I recommend you purchase them from cabelas. That way when you blow them out, you can send them back and get a refund. Danner will not stand behind their product.

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! I've owned a pair of Santiam's for the last nine years and they've been great boots. The Santiam's are American made and mine have held up very well.

All that said, I, like ROSCOE, wouldn't touch a pair of Danners that are made offshore. I bought a pair of Antelope GTX's and they were junk. Awful construction and leaky.

I own a pair of Raptor's which are pretty much the same boot. I've had them for 4 years now and they are the most comfortable boots I own. I have worn them Elk hunting and hiking in the mountains and on late season deer hunts in the Breaks.

I would be leery of any of their boots made overseas but their boots made in Portland are top notch in my opinion. I own 6 pairs of Danners, 3 made in Portland, and 3 made overseas.
