I have a pair of Danner's at the resole shop and I really like them. Looking at another pair and the one's I am looking at have a Goretex liner which according to the website makes them beathable and waterproof. Will the liner make them hot. I need a good boot to do chores at the farm, mow grass and hunt in warm weather. Don't need the waterproof, just a good leather laceup boot is all I want. I have a 40% off coupon so not worried about the money part that much. Any help or info is welcome, Thanks! Keep yer powder dry and yer knife sharp. | ||

If you don't need them to be waterproof, I would skip the Gore-Tex. I'm not sure if they still make them but I have a set of Danner hot weather work boots (steel toe) that are vented and they do not have the Gore-Tex liner. They have a lot of miles on them and are still holding up. | |||

I got a pair of Danner Winterlights about 30 years ago. they had insulation and Gore-Tex. After about a year of flexing the Gore-Tex started leaking- It seems to have cracked where it flexed. I sent them back to Danners and they were replaced, but after a year they started leaking. so I just wore them where I wasn't wading creeks. After a few years I had so changes in my feet so that I could no longer wear them for more than about 30 minutes. The problem was solved when I got some made to measure Russells. I gave the Danners to my son and he still has them, but he wears boots a lot less than I do. | |||

Thanks again, ordered a pair from Danner. Wife said they got there yesterday. Kind of like a military issue. 310.00 Will look at em when I get home, on a haul job in New Mexico now. Keep yer powder dry and yer knife sharp. | |||

I bought 2 pair of Danners last year. Hunting & military, Both pair SQUEAK when I walk. I can't even wear the hunting boots for hunting . Tried breaking both pair in wearing them but the SQUEAKING drives me nuts. caps are to show loudness. I wish I was computer savy enuf to record with my phone & post here. It would crack you up  Cats have nine lives. Which makes them ideal for experimentation... | |||
