I posted this in "Pistol Shooting" and haven't received a response yet so thought I'd try it in here.....

I saw an ad for one of these today. I had never heard of them, 6 pounds, maganese bronze frame, .45-70....anyone have any experience with one?

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

Not sure what you are refering to. A 6 pound pistol? Holy crap, how long is the barrel? Also where did you see it?

Yes, that should be the Century manufactured pistol. They made them in 50-70 and other rifle rounds as well. They are supposed to be very strong. They are also very heavy. The company changed hands a couple of times. I think the last owner started makeing them in Bronze. If you look at the properties of Maganese Bronze, it is stronger than some steels used to manufacture guns.
No idea what the value is on them, but it will probably only go up.
