Hi all. I have 2 old model single sixs with the 22lr cylinders, but no mag cylinders. I got an auction on ebay for cylinder and extra barrel, but the cylinder isn't even close to fitting my guns. The new cylinder is marked 22 mag. The base pin hole is too small on my new cylinder. Also the timeing notches are wider on the new cylinder. The length is slightly long, but I can fix that on the lathe. I'm wondering if I didn't get a Ruger cylinder? What are the differences between the old and new model cylinders? thanks. The barrel does say Ruger and is in excellent shape.

I suggest you post this question on Gary Reeders website...reedercustomguns.com or call him and ask. He can point you in the right direction. As far as I know the chances of having a cylinder from one revolver fit another is nil, and having two different series revolvers makes it even more of a remote possibility. It ain't gonna work. Period. Woody

glen,if you had a mag cyl you might not like it.the mag is loaded for a rifle and they sure are LOUD!!my new model, bought in 84 has had less than a box thru it.bought a 32 mag to load down and have the same power with less noise.

Woodrow, I'm not looking for a drop in fit. I beleive my first post outlined the major differences in the new cylinder I bought. The base pin hole is smaller, the timeing notches are wider. This is from a different maker, probably a Colt. I have a Ruger stainless 45 Blackhawk. I got a Ruger Biley 45(blued) cylinder from a friend and fit it to my gun. The cylinder was not a drop in fit. I used a diamond stone and removed metal from the ratchet end until the front of the cylinder would just barely slide past the barrel. Then I stoned the front nose until it would just fit inside the frame. I then took an Arkansas white stone and smoothed up the two surfaces. The barrel cylinder gap is around 1 thou and it shoots great. Geezer- I'd love to have a single six in 32 mag. Did they ever make one with adjustable sights?

Lar 45, Yes, the Single Six .32 Mag. was made (blue only) with adjustable sights, but was dropped from production several years ago. They are very hard to find in my area, but are good revolvers.
