Has anyone had any problems with Unique in large cases like 44 mag 475 linebaugh 500WE? There sure is a lot of empty space in these cases. I haven't had any problems yet but I haven't used it alot. I'm just loading some practice loads for more trigger time. I like Trailboss but have some Uniqe I use in 38 sp that I need to burn up. I'm used to rifle cases and I like a full case. Thanks guys.
I have loaded a good many .475 cases with Unique. You are going to have a vast amount of space in the case and you must be vigilant against double charges. Trailboss is in my opinion a better suited powder for the lighter loads. I usually run around 9 grains of Unique with a 240 cast bullet in the .44 Mag and this suits my needs for plinking and killing deer very well.

Ditto MS, been shootin that same Unique load for 20+ yrs, great load, just a little dirty. Otherwise it's great. Can't go wrong. Pistol and Trapper love it.

I've burned pounds of unique through my 480, and mostly with a charge of 9.3gr. I've also used it in my 350 rigby and 500 jeffrey rifles. In the rifles the cases are are only about 1/3 full.
Unique works well without having the fill the case. I've also found loads that produce exceptional accuracy with Unique. It may be old, it may be a little dirty, but it works as well today as it did when introduced ~100 years ago.

At the Linebaugh seminar last year, a powder rep was talking up AA2 quite abit. He said that even with small charges that it didn't matter the position in the case and was very uniform. I haven't tried any yet.

How many cars were handcranked before electric starters. How many gallons of ice cream were handcranked before electric ice cream makers. I have burned a good quantity of Unique, technology has provided handloaders with more suitable powders.
