I have a S&W 500 but I'm trying to get a good tight group at 75 or 100 yds. I have some loaded with LIL"GUN powder the 270gr bullets that go 2003 fps. Will try these out as soon as it warms up a little.

Geez, what kind of pussy would shoot that little 44 Mag pop gun? Myself of course as I own one, my father two, and I hope to add another to the fold sometime in the next year. Nice shooting. I've read precious little about this big new caliber but I'm curious if the S&W folks made it heavy enough and well-designed "ergonomically" to make the physics work toward the target and not the shooter? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks, Reed

I went to the range today with my S&W 500 and shot off what I had loaded with LIL'GUN. And at 50 yds it shot a 1.5" group. can't ask for anything better then that as far as I'm conserned with open sights on a revolver. The bullets were 270gr at 2037fps.

LIL'GUN sure works good in my 454. I have'nt shot the 500 yet. I have a 1.5x4 burris that sits on my 454 at times. It tames the recoil some. A good scope for a reasonable price. I think I'm at the upper end of my recoil tolerance with the 454. I bet you know something important happened when you drop the hammer on that 500.

The S&W500 isn't real bad with recoil. The gun itself weights 5lbs. The only bullets that have alot of recoil are the 400gr bullets. The 320 aren't bad haven't shot the 350gr yet. They are loaded to go 1912fps. The 400gr bullets are loaded to go 1725fps. The 270gr bullets are fun to shoot and they are the fastest over 2000fps.
