First off, welcome to the forum. Hope you enjoy your stay here. I'm going to agree with fred, a .44 mag just doesn't recoil hard enough to require a brake. I have found M-N-P's gunsmithing to be top notch. Once they have gone through a revolver it shoots well. I have the Stalker and Predator conversions on the SBH platform and love them. Worth every penny I paid for them!

Ben, way back when, I had them do a Magna -port job on a rifle & some of my friends have had them do work for them. They should do a fine job. I'ld rethink a muzzle brake though, the .44mag doesn't kick that hard.

I have several shooting buddies that have had MNP tune redhawks, super redhawks and super blackhawks. After MNP is done with them, the actions are super smooth. I'd put up an MNP ruger DA against any S&W for smoothness. I'd honestly say they would be first choice for Ruger action work based in the samples I've handled and shot. I also agree porting a 44, or any revolver for that matter is a waste to brake or port. Two reasons for that, the increased muzzleblast is unacceptable to me, and secondly I believe revolvers should roll in recoil, not come straight back which is exactly what a braked gun does. I shot a braked 475 Linebaugh, and didn't like it a bit. Yes, it definately changed the recoil over the unbraked ones I've shot, but I'd rather have a big roll then a straight back punch.

Hi all. Since this is my first post to the forums here, I'll take a minute or two and introduce myself. I'm a 31 year old guy from deep in the back woods of South Alabama. I've been shooting and hunting since I was about 4 years old, and have been shooting local IDPA matches for a while. I shoot mostly 1911s (Springfield and an old Colt), and this year I recently purchased a Ruger SRH in 44mag. I'm very finicky about my triggers so I've been looking around at having some work done to it to make it a hunting pistol, and I was looking at MagNaPort Inc. and having them put one of their muzzle brakes on the end of it, and also getting them to do an overall action job, cylinder respacing job, polish, recrown, and trigger job to the pistol. Does anyone here have any experience with them or know anything about the sort of work they do?
