How big was your hog? He looks like a good one.

If ignorance is bliss; there are some blissful sonofaguns around here. We know who you are, so no reason to point yourselves out.

Cool! They kill on both ends! Looks like a big hog. Do you know how much it weighed? What's the load that was used? beer

bfr -- just click on the picture and it should open another window where the video will play. Give it time to load.......

The pig must look bigger than it really was. It was actually a 240lb's sow, shot at about 45-50 yd's while trotting along the dry stream bed.

The load I was using that day was 23gr of Lil' Gun and a 400gr XTP. The other load I use is Cast Performance 375gr and 28gr of 298. Other than POI, I can't tell the difference. They're both more accurate than me and I've never recovered one.

It was one of those great hunting weekends. We were on a private ranch and the pigs were active. Both Friday afternoon and Saturday morning I made some really good stalks on some big boars, but past them up so we could hunt the rest of the weekend. Saturday evening no pigs. Sunday morning no pigs. We were actually heading out when we spotted what looked like a large boar at about 1/4 mile away. We took off after him but lost sight when we went down several ravines. So I shot the sow thinking it was pig we had seen. If the video was 30 seconds longer you would have several expletives when I turned around a saw the boar running about 300yd's away. Oh well, it was a great weekend and I put meat in the freezer, no complaints.

Sow or boar, still a great trophy and at 240-lbs, not a small hog! Congratulations on a well-done hunt and some good shooting! clap
