This is a follow up to this thread, https://forums.accuratereloading.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/2911043/m/232101278

The 2 new (new to me) M-29-2s needed to be check out in the accuracy department to determine if I had struck gold or not, and I think I have.
After a brief sight in at 35 yards. I decided to find out if I could hit a Starbucks coffee cup at 100 yards with either revolver.I set the cup out and drove to where I thought 100 yards would be. I lasered the distance and got 105 yards, close enough. The revolver that chrono'ed the slowest shot rather high even with the rear sight bottomed as low as it would go. The other one shot to point of aim at the close distance.

Here is the set target through my camera with a 12X optical zoom;

The view with no zoom;

I shot the M-29 that chrono'ed the slowest first and my first shot was to the left, next shot , was to the left, my third shot hit the cup.

I reset the target and attempted to do the same with the other revolver. My first shot was low, my second shot was low, my third shot was low, my fourth shot again was low, all the time I am making slight aiming adjustments. Now for my fifth shot, I align the sight and with all of my concentration I break the trigger. Amazingly I hit the cup.

I just nicked it, but a hit none the less;

All in all I am extremely pleased with these 2 M-29s

Also I replaced the Hogue grips on the M-29 that came with them to these

These fill my hand better and allows me better control and I am able to shoot more precisely.

Good shooting.
Was that with the Winchester 240gr factory load?

The 44 Mag S&W is one of my favorite handguns.

If you want to do an experiment - set up six targets shoot five rounds from chamber #1 at target #1, then five rounds from chamber #2 at target #2 etc .You'll learn something about the different chambers !!..It's not a good idea to then only use one chamber [the most accurate] it will damage the gun.For your two guns remember that they might like two different loads !!

Factory ammo is for self defense (legal mumbo jumbo Big Grin)........

It looks like they could be shooters! That is nice to find out. I like the grips -- where did you buy them and how much did they cost -- if you don't mind me asking.

I feel the same way about Starbucks coffee....... dancing

Let me repeat my question -- what kind of grips are those, jwp? What do they cost? Thanks!

I bought them on Gunbroker for $60.00. They have S&W emblems, but I don't think that they are S&W factory grips (I maybe wrong). They are very simular to the Hogue molded grips, just a smidgen widen in the rear. I think that the set of walnut grip on the other revolver are better suited to finner shooting.
