paal, I have a red dot on my Desert Eagle .50 AE (on the big slide) you can compare to .454 casull in terms of vibration due to heavy recoil. The most important in that subject is the rings and the scope mount. You can find appropriate scope mount made by taurus for the RB. You right it is a great combination. Go in that way, I neve had any problems with my Red dot. ------------------

See my post in the pistol shooting forum about my simmons. I don't know if the aimpoint is stronger internally, but I don't think I would try it. I read something somewhere about some 50BMG people experimenting with airgun red dots. I picked one up, and it mounted fine (no rings, just weaver clamps), but the dot was a max of 3MOA, way too big and hard to target with. I boxed it up and took it back. I think what the RB really needs is a super thin front sight blade and a graduated rear blade. Or maybe a silhouette sight. FWIW, I shoot it at in an informal IDPA style thing we put together at the lease, and with both eyes open, the monster sights and long sight radius make 10yd rapid fire shots a breeze.

I recently married my 6-1/2" RB with a Bushnell HOLOSIGHT, looks different, but I'm very happy with this combo. Just a thought
