What are your opinions on Taurus revolvers. I am interested in bigbores.

I have the 6.5" SS 454 and find it to be a nice gun. When I first got it then factory ammo would stick in the chambers. The were smaller at the back. I sent it back and they fixed it, also they did a complete action and trigger jog while it was there. It is very accuarate with most of the cast bullet loads I've put through it. I wish they had the option of no muzzle break as it is very loud. I'd heard that they were weak and would blowup while just shooting factory ammo, but they have a lifetime garuntee. So I ran some really hot loads through it. I shot some 45-70 405's sized down to .452" with 296 and got them up to 1550fps. I'm sure the pressure was WAY HIGH. The cases did get abit sticky on extraction. The bullets never stabilized and went through the target sideways, but still made a fairly nice pattern at 25yds. I have a scope on it now and have gotten groups in the 1.4" range at 50yds. Some of them have 3 shots in less than .2". I think it's a good gun for the money and would buy another one.

I have a 8" SS 454 Raging Bull and love it. Very accurate and the hotter loads with the muzzle break don't have as much barrel rise. A Great Deer pistol I recoment it highly. Never can have to many guns I always say.

HAVE a friend who has put 6000 .454s through his Raging Bull(yes that IS correct. six thousand full house rounds)and it is still together running strong. Last count he is now up to six Raging Bulls in various calibers and configurations. That pretty much says it all.

Lawcop, how about 55,000 rounds through my Super Blackhawk? Still tight and will hold 1" groups at 50 yds. Back to the question though. Taurus is a very good gun and do not be concerned about buying one. They are well built and strong.

I have a Taurus RB in .454 Casull and one bud has a Taurus RB in .44 mag. Both guns are very accurate even at 50 m with open sight. You can't go wrong in buying a Taurus.
