That reminds me a lot of a gun I bought on Okinawa in 1965. It was a Philadelphia Derringer chambered in .357. The guy sold it to me for $20 and threw in a box of ammo with 1 round missing. I sold it for $20 and threw in the box with TWO missing. I couldn't justify intentionally setting off that kind of explosion in my hand.

SAFARIKID, are you getting the cases made for the longer 2.1" case?

I thought there was a post about a order of 10,000 were needed.

Nice gun you got there, I bet it is going to hurt..lol

Talk to Jamison International, Mark Jamison 605-347-5090

He did the work on the S&W 500 Mag, Peter Pi of Cor-bon contracted him to help him develop the 500 Mag for S&W.

Also call Star line, they may be able to help. Does not hurt to ask.

Awesome!!!!! Big Grin

I've been away for a while and have just read this post or I would have already spoke up. I gotta have one now for sure! I've got a 7.5" BFR in .500 S&W (really about 8.1" barrel) that will soon require such a surgery. As simple as this procedure is, I may just ream the thing myself! It's the exact same as the .500 S&W, except the case is 2.1" long, right?

I have wanted this caliber from the start. The main reason I bought the BFR version of the .500 S&W first is because I just knew that someone was out there who would make good use of that strrrreeeetched cylinder! I friggin love it! I hope Jack can find someone to make the cases for a reasonable price but I'm going to convert mine for sure. I want to see how fast this thing can push those 700 gr t-rex thumpers.....I'll bet 1450-1500 fps with a 700 grainer will get your attention!

SAFARI....YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!!!! Thanks for staying with this project. I had about given up hope on it. When this thing takes off we'll all know why because up until now I've heard practically no info on it and very little interest in it but not for long I bet. It's too good, too versatile with it's .500 S&W ammo capability, and the conversion is too cheap and easy for it not to pick up steam. BOOM

SAFARI, THANKS AGAIN!! beer

Interesting, but I'll have to pass Wink I've fired a few guns that sounded like good ideas, but were a tad unmanagable in execution.

If I didn't already have a BFR in .500 S&W that I plan to convert, I might make Tom an offer but since I do have it as well as a 4" S&W 500, I'll pass. Besides that, I want to use my .500 Super as a primary hunting tool and my revolver, with it's 8.1" barrel, will better serve my intended purpose for it and make better use of the additional powder capacity. If I was in the market for another badass back up revolver, I might go for it though. Those .50-cal "sherriff's model" BFR's make me flinch just looking at them! They should make great back up revolvers for his flyweight model .600 Overkill from AHR though. SAFARIKID, the bullet will kill'em and the muzzleblast will skin'em , roast'em, and start your camp fire ya....all in one shot! BOOM hillbilly
