I recently aquired a S&W model 25-9 and have been unable to get much info reguarding.I'm considering using it for deer ,Any input would be appreciated.

.45 Colt is most adequate for deer with the proper bullet and without loading very heavy. A brief search indicates not many of this model were made.

It should work fine.I recommend against trying to load it as heavy as what a Ruger could take.

Your 25-9 was made in 1990. It is basically the same as the earlier 25-5 but incorporates a few minor engineering changes that S&W was using on the N frame by that time.
