Bob,

You're looking for a "one size fits all" and it doesn't exist.....if you're absolutely dead-set on a one bullet answer, I'll go with the Sierras. If I were you however, I'd try a few different brands in your gun to see which shoots the best.

No Lee.... This is just a question. I have shot every jacketed bullet made except for some of the high dollar custom bullets like the Hawk and most of the cast bullet designs from 170-305 grains. This is just a question if you really had to limit yourself what bullet in your experience could you live with to do most of the jobs you do with a .41 Magnum. Most everyone here has chosen a different bullet. Some have gone cast, some jacketed and some hollow points over soft points. That is all I wanted to know. Would I want to limit myself to one bullet...no but I could...and it is none of the ones listed above....yet it is one of the oldest .41 bullets made next to the original 210 Soft Point....Bob

And thanks to all the others for their bullet choice and even the loads. If you would expand upon the loads it would also be appreciated...like what for target work, for hunting or defense...

Bullet: 210 gr. Remington JSP

Hunting load: Fed case, CCI300, 22 gr IMR4227.

Defense load: Win case, CCI300, 17 gr 2400.

Longer range target load (100 yds): same as hunting load

Short-medium range target load (25-50 yds): same as defense load

For hunting I like any good hard cast Keith type simi wadcutter..I have no use for soft points of any kind for hunting big game. A cast bullet is also fine for plinking and target shooting..

For self defence, a good 210 gr. hollow point at plus P Plus velocity would be my choice...

RJM, many thanks. I'll be loading up some .41's with Blue Dot very soon. That info will come in handy.

Good hunting. L.W.
