I found my 45-70 BFR was clean and I will not hunt with a clean gun. I also did not remember what boolit it was sighted for so I ran down just before dark and rapped off 5 shots at 50 yd's.
First shot was high but the next 4 went into 1" with 3 in 5/8", right where I want them. Good to go to 100 yd's.
This is a 378 gr WFN, PB with 30 gr's of 4759 and the Federal 155 primer.

Nice! I've shot that revolver and I can testify to its accuracy! Don't shoot any more, you're going to scare off the deer before I get back there! Big Grin

Boy BFR, Your 50 yrd group looks like my typical 25 yrd groups! I'm 47 and every year my eyes get worse & my groups get bigger. And 47's not realy that old. I'm scared to think how I'll shoot in 5-10 more years! My son keeps telling me to take my scoped M-94 30-30 but I've never shot a deer with a handgun. Lots of groundhogs but no deer. I guess its mostly a confidence thing. But who knows...maybe this year things might change. The cold still gets to me here in PA also ! Anyway, sorry to sort-of re-direct.
Take Care !
Chris
