Did some chronographing with bfrshooter today, and thought you all might find the results interesting (at least on some level.... ). The weather was good -- bottom 70s, and the two weapons used were a 6.5-inch M29 .44 magnum, and my custom .475 Linebaugh Ruger Super Redhawk.

We tested handloads and factory offerings in both calibers. The results are as follows:

I didn't mean to mislead, but that target was shot a number of months ago, not today. Had some technical difficulties with the optics on the .475......I'll post separately........

Excelent group no matter when it was shot....

Take note of the velocity difference between 2 boolits of the same weight in the .44. The difference is because the RD boolit goes very deep in the case while my boolit has a long nose. Even so, both group almost the same.
The surprise was the weak performance of the Hornady factory .475 loads, not any better then the .480. Not that anything shot with it would notice but it does change the trajectory for long range.
The BB loads sure don't grow any moss on them!
