Hi, has anybody shot these 32 H&R mag revolvers? Just wondering if they are accurate at all. Thinking about a birthday present for the youngest son, then he can cast and reload ammo for it. They are only $230, but if they don't shoot well, it would just be money wasted.
It looks like they changed the 22 revolvers to a steel frame, and the 32 is on a steel frame also.

If you can get to a place where you can put your hands on one of these revolvers, I would think in fairly short order you can figure out whether or not they are worth the expense. For me, they are probably worth the asking price. You don't get much for just a tad over $200, but I have seen handloading make up for a whole lot of design errors, despite what BFRShooter says!

I found a 22 combo in town and it looked like the barrel had a small diameter with a sleeve over it. I wonder if the 32 would be the same way.

I have one of the 45/410 Super Comanche single shot pistols. I think I paid $135ish new several years ago with the thought of just shooting 410s in it. While we were out blasting pop cans with 410s, I tried some mild 265 SWC 45 Colt loads and it really surprised me with how well it shot.
I'll have to see if I can find the target, but I think it was under 2" at 50yds.
It would definatly serve as a 100yd Deer hammer if you only had $150-180 to spend and wanted a single shot pistol.

With warm loads, the rubber forend would pull off under recoil. lol A small washer under the screw fixed that.

I took a chamber cast just to see what it looked like inside. If I had seen the chamber cast first, I would have thought shooting 45 Colts would be a huge waste of time.
The chamber was long enough to fit a 454 Casull and lock up without any problems. After that it had a long tapered section maybe 2" + that went from .452"ish down to .448"(or smaller, I'll have to see if I can find my notes. Memory isn't cooperating tonight), then the rifleing was way undersized also with the groove diameter of .448"ish.(again all this is from memory, so don't quote me on the measurements)
With all of that stuff wrong with it, it still shot very well.

I did email the company to tell them the chamber was long enough to fit a 454.

The absolute LAST thing I would do with a revolver from these folks is stretch it to .454! Heat treating costs money, and I can guarantee you they didn't design this revolver to take 60K pressures!

First, this is not a revolver.
It's a single shot pistol.

I am not saying that anyone should shoot a 454 in it. I thought it was dangerous that they made the chamber long enough for a 454 to fit. Soooooo, I emailed the company, importer and factory to tell them about it.

You are correct: it is a pistol.

And I misunderstood what you meant by the statement about chamber length. My apology.

I went to the Gun Barn today and looked at a new Super Comanche.
The exterior finish is much better than the one I bought several years ago.
The chamber on the new one looked very nice, mine is very rough.
I dropped a 454 Casull round in the chamber and closed the action without any problems.(again, don't anyone shoot a 454 in one)
The owner of the shop said that he talked to them at the SHOT Show about the chamber being long enough for a 454. He said they acted surprised, but was sure that he was not the only person to tell them about it.
