have an old Redhawk 5 1/2" (1984) and thinking of a scope. Old eyes. Are there mounts that do not have to be drilled or rear sight removed. Semper Fi WE BAND OF BUBBAS STC Hunting Club

Ruger used to offer a barrel change on this model of Redhawk with integral scope mounts on the barrel. I don't know if they still offer this service or how much it costs; you could contact them to find out.

Weaver offers a no drill mount for the redhawk, but it leaves a mark on the frame. The one I used for awhile seemed to hold zero very well.

As of 18 months ago Ruger still offered the service. I'm very happy with the conversion. Rusty's Action Works Montross VA. Action work for Cowboy Shooters & Manufacturer of Stylized Rigby rifle sights. http://i61.photobucket.com/alb.../th_isofrontleft.jpg
