A couple of months back, I asked for opinions here on the FA revolvers vs. the various customs (thanks again for you input). Although I was asking about the larger bores at the time (454 and 475), I ultimately decided to go with a smaller framed gun (this time. Wink) I didn’t have anything in this size, and the 97 just seemed so handy.

After a short 8-week wait, it arrived yesterday, and I’m very, very pleased with the fit and finish. These are obviously well-made guns.

It’s in 45 colt, has the 5.5â€oct bbl, fixed rear sights, adjustable front, and round-butt grip. Thanks again for the input!

Nice looking revolver and one you should enjoy for a long time to come. Now begins the fun of finding a load it likes and getting some shooting in.

Thanks for the copmliments. I have not shot it yet, but it did come with one of those "clover-leaf" targets, so it looks promising.

Chris

As you know I have a FA 475.

I think that the FA is one of the best handguns made on the Planet.

I have handled some of the "little" FA 45 Colts. IMHO they are EXCELLENT.
THEY HAVE A MOST EXCELLENT FEEL TO THEM.

Your FA looks VERY NICE.

Very nice ,, a perfact little packin around pistol ...
The kind that probably will kill alot of game simply because it will probably always be with you ...

I,m pretty jazzed about my 454 model 83 Field Grade .......I,m not concerned about loosening it up ....

That is just beatutiful. Now, a couple of questions: that barrel looks longer that 5.5", the cylinder looks long (maybe the angle), and I can't see the rear sight (angle again?) One day I will get an FA. Anyne know of any good deals?
