What's your next handgun?!

First and foremost, I'm going to have Hamilton Bowen re-work my Ruger 50 Anniversary Flat-top .44 mag with the full case coloring and his special mechanics.

I am also thinking about a Colt Cowboy Single Action in .45 LC. Anyone have experience with this revolver? I'm always concerned about the accuracy on Colt SAA's. Thanks for our input.

You will certainly know you touched off a round. The recoil is a bit stiff on that one.

Seriously, the recoil is beyond stiff and shy of manageable. I would suggest something a bit milder -- it'll be more fun and more effective on many levels. JMHO.

I have a smith and wesson .500 and have shoot the 700 grain bullets behind 30 grains of lil gun and that is pretty heavy in my book. After 10 rounds of those im done. Does the .50 Alaskan kick more than that?

Considerably. I had a 6 1/2-inch .500 Smith and I shot the 700 grain loads in testing, and they were mild in comparison. My .50 AK weighs only 4-lbs and the 525 grain loads I shoot burn 63 grains of powder. It's almost obscene. The recoil energy calculates out to around 100-ft-lbs. It's simply too much of a good thing, and not useful in the least. I prefer my .500 Maximum to my .50 Alaskan.

I would like another Glock 20. Maybe a Gen 4 this time. After that My crazy ass wants a Freedom 353. More importantly I want an H&R Sportsman model 999 like my grandfather had. That should round out my wants list.

It depends on the gun and can be hit or miss on accuracy. Also remember they cover three generations of models and 150 more or less years of different guns. So accuracy can be good, bad or indifferent.

My advice is get one if you like that particular moniker in guns. They are "cool" in many ways. Even beyond words, especially when you get just that caliber you always wanted (I have them in both 45LC and 44-40) and get those genuine ivory stocks with the turn of the century steer head carving.

But I really wouldn't get one for hunting or thinking mainly of accuracy.

Big thing is, they are fixed sights, so...

Thanks for the response, but, I have owned a gen 3 in .44spcl, and it stunk for accuracy. I was wondering about the new Cowboy SAA model, where it is safe to carry all 6 rounds much like the Rugers? I thought maybe accuracy was inproved on these models even though they have fixed sights.

Still kicking around the idea of buying a Freedom Arms .22 revolver with a 5.5 inch octagon barrel and matching .22 mag cylinder. Yea, I know they are pricey but I wanted one for a long time and it would be identical to my FA 475 Linebaugh.

S&W 686 plus, but I cant decide 3inch, 4 inch, 5 inch, or 6 inch. If I can find a good deal on the 5 inch which I think is a Lipsey's special, that would be #1 choice

I have already loaded some 255 gr LBT's for it with starting loads and I'm gonna get it sighted in tomorrow. Details to follow. I just wanted a short, compact 44 mag to carry on the farm.
