I have hundreds of 158gr. swc for my 357. I have never loaded nor used these bullets befor(a friend gave them to me)Are they adequate for whitetailed deer out to 50yds? or are their praimary use plinking? Any comments are appreciated. Ryan

P.S what powders are commoly used for this round?

I wouldn't be afraid to use them on deer. Hit properly dead deer. I like loading them with Herco and red dot for 2nd choice. I have shot 10s of 1000s of them for training ect.

I like using mine for target loads. I use 5.0 gr. of Bullseye for them. Nice and light and accurate. No crimp just neck tension. Having said that, cast bullets work good for hunting although I prefer Hornady XTPs. Slim
