My only experience is with the T/C and the .45/,410 barrel. You may want to start at the manufacturer's website if one exists. If ignorance is bliss; there are some blissful sonofaguns around here. We know who you are, so no reason to point yourselves out.

Looks like an inexpensive knock-off of the Contender concept http://www.firestorm-sgs.com/supercomanche.htm I've had a couple 45/410 barrels for my Contender. Neither shoot 45 Colt ammo worth a hoot past 50 feet. 410 slugs group poorly and a foot low at that distance. Wouldn't expect anything different from the Super Commanche and there is no way a scope is going to help. They're sorta neat with shot though and I might try it with the three and four pellet buckshot loads one of these days. Bottomline, 45/410s are goofy rulebeaters that let a fella hunt bunnies and tree rats with a sawed off shotgun...not that there's anything wrong with that.

I have one. I think the brand name is Rexico? They make them in 22lr and 22mag also. I e-mailed and suggested they do a 357 mag, but no responce. I found a scope mount on Ebay for mine, but haven't put it on yet. The bore on mine is way small. It's something like .448". The chamber is long enough to take a 454 case. I did a chamber cast and past the pistol case area it tapers down to the undersized bore. I shot some cast 230 BD flat nose and they shot great. I've had a problem with the rubber forend comeing off under recoil when shot with warm loads. They are a cheap gun, but for $150 it is well worth it. I wish I could have found one of these years ago when I didn't have much money to spend on guns. Oh and the chamber is really rough. It might help to make a brass lap to polish it, as long as it didn't make it too big. When I e-mailed them I asked for a smoother chamber also. Mine is blued but they come in a nickel finish also. The front sight is held on by the screw on choke thing. I'd be interested to know just how strong they are and what could be safely shot in them. I don't think that Ruger level loads would be safe. You should be able to get a 260gn SWC going 1200fps without any problems.

Better performance can be had with these barrels by using 9.3 x 74R brass and necking it up to .45 caliber, which will put the bullet right near or on the lands if you want it that way. Another advantage to using the 74R case is that 45-70 and higher load capacities are possible...Rusty.

The 74R case will work in the Contender barrels, but the chamber on my Rexico tapers down to the undersized bore and is too small to allow a longer case to chamber. You could recut the chamber if you wanted to use a longer case, or get a custom .448" bullet mold? Besides the 74R case, the Magtech 410 brass cases is another option at 2.45". I've tried 444 Marlin cases in other guns, but the base is smaller than the 45 colt. The 410 cases are larger at the base and close to the 45 colt.
