Just traded for a new stainless Ruger super redhawk 44 mag with 7 1/2 in. barrel,Got my local gunsmith to order some Ruger factory gold bead front, express v rear sights to go on it.Love the fit finish ,feel of this gun,but would like to find someone to cut the barrel down to 5 1/2 in. to make it more packable on my hip.Ya`ll know anybody who does this a a decent price and reliable work?

I'd suggest Jack Huntington, he's likely done as many or more SRH conversions as anyone else.

I've talked to Jack in the past about cutting down my 480 to 5 1/2", and he had a very reasonable quote. I never got the work done as the gun shoots so well, I don't want to mess it up. Some day I'll get another 480 and have it cut down.

I've got a redneck bandsaw (hacksaw) and a milling machine (file). I've had Mag-Na-Port cut down barrels and I really like their crowning job.

If ignorance is bliss; there are some blissful sonofaguns around here. We know who you are, so no reason to point yourselves out.
