Thanks for all you guys help in my barrel length thread. It helped me out a lot in making some decisions on a new revolver.
Well, a new Revolver did follow me home from the gun show today. I saw the gun yesterday, and I took the wife back to the show today, and she agreed that I "had to have it". I think I will keep her and the gun!

Anyway, I got a Ruger GP100 .357 Mag., Stainless w/ 6" barrel. Looks great, and feels like the thing that has been missing from my hand.
I picked up some .38Sp 158gr target loads to start out with. I Can't waite to get in some range time.

Anyone else shooting this revolver? What hunting loads are you using?

Thanks again!

Mark, I don't shoot the Ruger but use a Colt model 357,with the 6" bbl,for hunting our VA.deer I use the 180 grain cor-bon, or the 145 grain winchester silver tip ammo,I keep my shots down below 75 yards and with the cor-bon I tend to punch the shoulders, with the winchester i go for heart and lung area, If you cast the old Keith 173 grain SWC hard cast is a great one to, I use that in my model 27 with the 3 1/2" bbl.
